In Pescaroli, in the heart of the National Park of Abruzzo, in one of the most enchanting mountain areas of Italy: the wild scenic beauty and the incredible variety of flora and fauna. On a large plain, at 1.167m above sea level, in a dry and healthy climate, Villa Mon Repos Hotel is the right place for a summer stay and for winter sports, but also for spring and fall holidays.
The Hotel, belonging to the Berardini- Decina family, was built in late Art Nouveau style: the villa was designed by Erminio Sipari, the original owner, and built at the beginning of last century. The original owner was the founder of P.N.A. and uncle from mother's side of the great philosopher Benedetto Croce, who was born in Pescasseroli. It has been told that Croce spent hours meditating and walking around the area, smelling of musks, rhododendrons and maples; and that he knocked every at five o' clock at this villa's door to have tea and biscuits with his ant.
